Length: 2 residency programs: Long Term: 6 months- 2 years — Short Term BIPOC Summer Artist’s Residency: Approximately 3 months (Mid June - Early September)
Housing: None
Kilns: 1 Raku Clamshell kiln and 9 electric kilns (3 1227 Skutt kilns, a FL 20 Olympic Front Loader, a 1018 Skutt Kiln, a 1027 Skutt Kiln, a 4227D Coneart Kiln, a OVAL Olympic Kiln and a Olympic Test Kiln)
Expenses: Clay at cost
Funding/Stipend:
BIPOC Summer Residency:
$2,000 unrestricted stipend
Free use of studio glazes, slips and oxides
Free firings and reclaim
Workspace: 7 x 8 foot studio space
Responsibilities:
BIPOC Summer Residency:
Teach one workshop
Spend at least 20 hours/week working on personal studio practice
Engage with studio community members and answer questions about work and process
Work with staff to engage in Pottery Northwest’s social media platforms
Spend 4 hours/week working with our studio managers on studio maintenance and upkeep
Give an artist talk in conjunction with the workshop and exhibition

BIPOC Residency:
Continue, complete or build a body of work with the intention of creating an exhibition in the Pottery Northwest Gallery
Have a featured display in Pottery Northwest’s Seattle Art Fair booth
End-of-term exhibition in our onsite gallery
Resident will work clsely with the Programs Director on all aspects of the workshop, artist talk and exhibition so that the Director may provide help and guidance as needed
