Location: Boston, MA
Length: Short Term: 6 weeks (mid June-end of July)

Funding/Stipend: Artists will receive a stipend of $1,500 (International artists may be eligible for reimbursement for travel and visa up to an additional $1,000)
Workspace: Residents have access to communal college studio facilities with ample space sharing - ceramics, wood shop, print shop, photo studio, darkroom, design lab and drawing studios
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the Emmanuel community through occasional interactions with Emmanuel faculty, staff, and students, and through the single work that each artist donates to Emmanuel College at the completion of their residency.
Artists may be invited back for a presentation during the following academic year based on teaching needs.
Devote 3 hours to Emmanuel’s summer art history course, Contemporary Art and Artistic Practice, discussing their own process
Donate one piece to Emmanuel College at the end of the residency
Number of Residents: 4 artists - 1 ceramics, 1 photography, 1 printmaking and 1 social practice
Additional Opportunities:
The residency supports a diverse group of artists, providing uninterrupted time and space for established and emerging artists to develop their work
An Art Department studio manager will be available throughout the residency to assist artists with the logistics of the residency
Due to the summer months being relatively quiet in that faculty and students are generally not on campus, networking that extends beyond the campus to the larger art community of the Boston is not offered by Emmanuel College. The encourage artists to do their own community building by organizing weekly dinners or other social events together and reaching out to any Boston-based arts organizations that are of interest to them.
