Location: Summer Lake, OR
Length: Short Term: 5, 11, 17 or 25 nights
Housing: Each resident is provided housing with a kitchen, and a place to work, either a studio or a desk area in their cabin (including one shared living quarters cabin)
Kilns: 1 electric kiln with manual controls (Duncan - up to ^6)
Expenses: All materials needed must be brought with the resident, including food
Funding/Stipend: None
Workspace: Live in/work in studio/cabin

Number of Residents: 8-10 residents at a time (1 ceramic resident at a time)
Additional Opportunities:
Residents must be comfortable in a very rural area. People who are comfortable camping will do very well as the closest small towns are 1 and 2 hours away
Close proximity to the ODFW Wildlife Area - Summer Lake where a vast variety of birds come through to stay or stop during migrations
This program is self-directed with staff available for support
There is limited cell service and WiFi is only available within the main lodge
A metal and wood shop is available for residents to utilize
PLAYA is a good place for experimentation and play
Investigation, immersion and exploration of Oregon’s outback high desert with 7 miles of hiking trails and a disc golf course around the PLAYA property
PLAYA residencies are open to the global community of scientists, naturalists, biologists, musicians, designers, sustainability leaders, social practice artists, musicians, visual artists, writers, performing artists, and collaborations and individuals engaged in interdisciplinary works or other forms of creative work
Location is in a 76 acre, remote, rural area of Oregon with wide open vistas and opportunities for field explorations in rich natural settings. Campus is made up of the Commons building (where the only WiFi on campus can be accessed), 7 cabins, 2 live/work units, 1 home for staff, 5 indoor visual art/music/movement studios, and 1 outdoor studio
PLAYA will provide 4 group dinners during a 26-day residency, 2 dinners during a 12-day and 1 dinner during a 5-day residency.
