Length: Short Term - 1-3 months - Fall: (September-December), Winter: (January-March), Spring: (April-June), Summer: (July-August)
Housing: None
Kilns: 2 gas kilns and 5 electric kilns
Expenses: Firing fee of $0.01 per cubic inch after resident’s $500 firing credit is used
Funding/Stipend: Depending on grant funding, residents will receive a $3,000 honorarium and additional financial support in the form of $500 firing credit and one Greenwich House Pottery class of resident’s choice
Workspace: Private 12’ x 12’ studio within a larger shared space
Responsibilities:
Minimum of 25 hours/week spent on personal practice and utilizing facilities
Share elements of resident’s practice via formal or informal learning opportunities within the GHP community or the public community
Encouraged studio visits from Greenwich House Pottery membership and informal discussions
Attend GHP events as frequently as possible
Number of Residents: 1 artist at a time
Additional Opportunities:
Access to GHP’s technical and material resources for duration of residency
Residents will not be loading or firing their own kilns and will be fired with community work
Group exhibition opportunity in the summer following the residency
Free materials including washes and colorants
Professional studio portraits taken of residents
Professional photos taken of group exhibition and individual pieces displayed in the exhibition
Paid opportunity to teach workshops
