Responsibilities: 3-4 hours/week of work trade helping Cider Creek Collective with varied tasks
Number of Residents: 4-5 long term artists and a rotating cast of short term visiting artists at a time
Additional Opportunities:
The Cider Creek farmstead has extensive heirloom gardens and orchards, so the community of artists is collaborating to grow food and produce farmhouse ware in tandem with food crops.
The property is a historic homestead that began as a fruit orchard and still retains 60 fruit trees including apple, plum, cherry, and pear.
Co-Owner/ Director Nick Schwartz is know around the world for his expertise in Anagama-style wood firing and kiln building. Many residents and visitors seek him out specifically to learn those crafts.
Artists live there, make their own work, and work together on building projects, teaching classes, childcare, gardening, kiln building, and generally supporting each other to nurture the creative life of Cider Creek and the local community
